The Mission:
St. Michael’s Jazz Fest is dedicated to community building through music.
• Introducing and heightening the musical profile and cultural traditions of New Orleans Jazz and brass band music. Focus on the original Musical style of the 20th century, our most distinct American art form and its influence on all American music to the present day.
• Endeavor to provide annual professional musical performance opportunity for the local music community, as well as local military bands, school ensembles, music education nonprofits, while featuring a notable professional musical group/ambassador from the great city of New Orleans.
• Recognizing the rich diversity of people in San Diego county, we seek to make a day of performances and music education workshops free and accessible to everyone.
• Uplift, strengthen, celebrate and sustain our local cultural economy, paramount to our quality of life.
